Why is my friends mom behaving in this peculiar way with me?

Hi,This is Mike, 25 yr old. I am sharing a very peculiar incident here. 3 months back my friend had his 25th birthday. I along with his Mom (She is a plump lady in her 40's but has a great dressing sense which makes her look younger) planned his birthday party.The complete process involved around a week wherein I used to meet my friend's mom in my friend's absence. During the week we travelled to places on my bike looking for venues and caterers or decorators etc. We had all kinds of body contact like handshakes, high five and other irregular touches.After the event, I wasn't expecting any calls from my friend's mom but she still continued calling me for help or any assistance she needed which was earlier done by her son. Once she called me saying she needs to go out and took me to a coffee shop.Frankly speaking I am confused. What is she upto? Is she looking out for anything more than being her son's friend ? If yes how to know with minimum or no risk.

After reading your question what i guess is you too like her and you are enjoying the moments, but only afraid whether this is just your thought or really turning to a different path which you want to live or enjoy.
Start with helping her in household chores of her, then if possible do small gestures for her eg. you know she likes some typical chocolate or some typical flower get that for her while u go to her place.
If possible try to take her out for lunch or dinner (just like the coffee one)
